How to generate a signed apk in android studio? - android

I created a signed apk .
But , when I install it comes like this.
How can I solve this?

Uninstall your app completely and install again
Settings -> Apps -> Click on your App.
In App info page at the action bar menu there will be an option " Uninstall for All users " click that.
Your app will be completely uninstalled and now you can try installing the new version.
Also In application check the unknown sources option

I had encountered the same problem and in my case it's because I don't generate a signed APK
To Generate Signed APK first you need keystore file. You can create keystore with Android Studio with these steps :
Select Build in Menu bar
Select Generate Signed Bundle or APK
Select APK or Android App Bundle. Choose based on what you need, if you don't know what to choose just choose APK
Click Create New button under key store path textbox
Fill all the information needed
Be aware that there's 2 password textbox. The first one is keystore passowrd and the second one is key password. It' s different thing and save them on notepad or whatever so you don't forget it
Also remember the path where you save the keystore file
After creating keystore file now we begin to create the signed APK
Follow the first 3 steps form creating keystore file until you asked to choose keystore
Now for keystore we choose the one that we have been created by clicking choose existing button
Fill in the keystore password and key password
Select you destination folder for the APK, and for build variant you can choose release

How can i make my .apk signed for release in android

I want to make the signed .apk's to release in the android market.
Steps I followed are
Make a folder with name keys and save the .apk in that.
Then right click Project->android tools->export the signed .apk
Then follow all the instructions.
But when I click on the finish button after all the changes, it will give the error

In Eclipse, right click on the project then Android Tools -> Export Signed application package.
Then just create your own signature key, or use an existing one if you have it.

How to give android apk to client for testing purpose?

I am developing for an application currently.
But when i will finish my app developement and i create .apk, should i sign it or make it unsigned while giving my app to my client for testing on their own devices??
He should not be able to put this apk on market as an author/ He should not distribute without my permission.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
You can sign with your debug key which in windows resides in: username/.android/debug.keystore
Password is: android
Sec password is: android
Edit: But if the person has some knowledge he can just resign it with another key, you can't really protect yourself against this (afaik).
Steps:
In Android Studio Generate Build APK
Build -> Build APK
You get popup once apk is generated
Build APK
Apk(s) generated successfully.
Shown in File Manager.
Goto https://www.diawi.com/ and signup if if you are a new user, else login.
In above link you may find option "Upload your app".
Inside that box you ma find "Drag&drop files here .ipa or .zip(.app) .apk"
So Drag and Drop apk file or Browse apk file using + Add file(s) button.
After uploading apk Click on Send button.
This will generate a URL and Barcode.
Share that URL with a person who want to test the build.
you don't need to sign using debug key, android sdk does it automatically, and android applications signed by debug key is not possible to upload on market, you can get apk file in bin directry of your project.
file-> export
click on android
select "export android application"
specify the path

Android - Signing an apk

I have written a little program, by default, it is signed with debug certificate.
I checked the documentation at Android developer site, I don't know how to get the certificate and key, could someone advice me?
Right click your project:
Android Tools -> Export Signed Application Package
Give the project name which you want to sign. Click next.
If you want to create a new keystore, select "Create New Keystore".
Give the location where to save it. The name of the keystore should end with .keystore and give a password for it. Click next.
Give the details and click finish.
That's simple: within the ADT plugin you can extract signed apk just from the IDE. It will ask you for creating a keystore and a key in it. Remember to backup the keystore because it is necessary to upload an update to the market.
See the section in dev guide.
