I am working on my first android-project, a memory-game in Android Studio. The gameActivity-Frame should contain some textViews, displayed in one line (for stats) on the top of the screen and the memory-cards below. There are mutliple memory-versions, so the number of memory-cards vary - and by that the dimension of thier GridLayout.
My main Layout is a LinearLayout (vertical). I placed another LinearLayout (horizontal) on it, where the Textviews take place. To display the cards, I used a GridLayout which will be filled with cards once the game started.
The LinearLayout (with textViews) should always stick on the top of the screen. The GridLayout should be centered in the remaining space below.
What I get is that both Layouts either stick in the middle, or that the LinearLayout is correct, but the GridLayout is either on the bottom or on the top of the remaining space.
I tried to find a solution here on SO, and I think I tried every possible combination of the gravity- and layout_gravity - settings of the components. I can imagine the problem is that I can use either wrap_content or match_parent in the main Layout, but not both. Guess I'd need wrap_content to stick the first Layout to the top and match_parent to use the whole space below this Layout.
How can I stick the first Layout to the top and center the GridLayout in the remaining space?

RelativeLayout won't do the job properly, because the layouts might overlap, depending on the amount of memory-cards and the user's device's dimensions.

I don't know the image size I will have, but I know I want them at the same height every time, width may change according to the ratio)

With the previous design, button were well aligned and take all the screen (match_parent) ... with this one, they are located at the bottom left ... As android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" is made for RelativeLayout, problem come from this... how may i change it ?
Try using android:gravity="center" in your LinearLayout (which encapsulates the buttons) or android:layout_gravity="center" in Button elements. I believe the first option will be enough.
EDIT: regarding Lint warning message, I believe it's related to this line:

It's discouraged to use hard-coded strings. Try replacing it by android:text="#string/my_string_id" and define such string in your strings.xml file.
In my app I have a bottom bar which can have many tabs that i can scroll to them.
in other devices other than the Galaxy S2 and S3 the scroll work great but in Samsung S2 and S3 the scroll doesn't work and so some tabs cannot be reached (see figure).

try to remove the linear layout and keep the HorizontalScrollView
Some things weird on your layout:
1) Why do you have two nested horizontal LinearLayouts ? (svContainerParent and svContainer)
Whatever you are trying to do, you can do it with only one.
2) Remove android:gravity="center" from the RelativeLayout. It does not do anything there.
3) Remove the first LinearLayout wrapping your HorizontalScrollView. Put the necessary parameters on the HorizontalScrollView itself instead.
4) And finally, why do you have that RelativeLayout wrapping your ImageView? You would only use a RelativeLayout if you want your view to go on top (or behind) another view (which does not seem to be the case on your screenshots).
I assume one of those cases is causing the problem of not scrolling on some devices. Let me know if it helps!

It doesn't get any simpler than that. Once you have scrolled all the way down (as indicated by the shape of the scroller) you should see the bottom white margin but instead this is what it looks like:
Compare with the top:
The bottom should look like the top, only reversed. This happens in the emulator, on real devices and in pretty much every Android version I have tried. I am at a loss as to what I am doing wrong (if anything...).

After wasting much time in dead alleys I was finally put on the right track by this other SO thread: the issue was the layout margin on the LinearLayout. Apparently ScrollView doesn't like that, just as it doesn't like its child to be centered (an issue flagged by many other people but not my problem here) and who knows what else. Very choosy widget. It's issues like this that make me reconsider my commitment to Android: it's just too time-consuming relative to alternative platforms and, even if you enjoy the challenge, time is money.
Anyway, for the benefit of those who will flop here later, here is a side-by-side demonstration of a broken layout (a simpler version of the one above) on the left and a working one on the right. The trick is to emulate the verboten margin with padding on an extra container.

try putting a padding on the bottom of the scroll view, so that you see a white line at the bottom - your view indeed does scroll all the way down , i tried it with this code and the result is this:
