I wonder why i can't find build bundle(s)/APK in my android studio, i am using Ionic, React and Capacitor to build my project before directing to complete my work in android studio, i am trying to extract an APK from my project, but i can't find any option on android studio to achieve this, these are all the options available in build item:
In all tutorials, i find people recommend going to build > build bundle(s)/APK, but this option is not available in android studio, I am using the latest version, what can be the problem??
the same thing happened to me, the compilation options do not appear because you do not have the same version of the SDK installed in android studio that you used in Ionic.

For the last few days, I have been trying to build a testing project for android using the default build method but I just keep recieving errors and not knowing how to fix them.
Short Error and Full Error Decscription. Also I am using Unity 5.6.7f1 with Admob plugins (And yes because my pc is shit so I use this version)
So I want to ask is there an alternative way for building an android app with Unity. I have heard about exporting the project to gradle and building it using Android Studio. But I don't know how.
If you know an alternative way or how to build the project with Android Studio or how to fix the error PLEASE ANSWER. I am having a nightmare with building this stupid test project to Android
The problem is your jdk(1.8.0_311) is too new to support legacy build command from Unity (5.6.7f1).
Two method to solve:
Install older jdk
if you don't know which version you should use. You may use the default jdk with Unity installer in preferences. (I'm not sure 5.6.7f1 is supported).
Export android project
You can export android project by check the "Export Project". Then use android studio to build apk.
i'm using ionic and i try to run my app in android studio. On Ios everything is working fine but android studio is always saying please add configuration. I actually have no idea how to add a configuration. Also my project contains three packages. I'm building my project with the following commands:
ionic build
npx cap sync
npx cap open android
Also android studio cannot resolve some libraries.
Please find attached a screenshot of the errors i have mentioned above:
thank you
I had this same issue, and I think it was a few problems compounded. It looks like you shouldn't have to add configurations manually, so if the "app" configuration doesn't appear automatically then something is wrong. I ran
ionic cap build android
which built everything and launched android studio. If that doesn't fix it, you might be missing some sdks. Try running this command from your android folder.
./gradlew assembleDebug
Mine complained about missing a specific version of the android sdk which I had to install with the android studio sdk manager. Then I relaunched android studio, and the "app" configuration was there.
I have download from Xamarin Studio Tasky Project and open it
with Visual Studio 2015 Enterprise Edition
when i build the Solution i got these Errors in ANDROID App
with knowledge that i didn't changed any thing yet in the project.
i tried to build and clean and rebuild the project but still the it gives me an error once i build it.
while iOS version is building and running perfectly
Try right click on Android head > Properties > Choose Application panel. Compare the Namespace in Application panel of the Android project is equal with the namespace in the Resource Designer file (/Resources/Resource.Designer.cs). If not don't change this direct in Resource.Designer.cs file (because the file will be automatically generated). Instead, you can change the namespace in all affected files to the namespace you see in the Android Application panel or use 'using' in the affected files.
This error is due to Android SDK Platform of target OS API version is not installed. Make sure you install all Android APIs SDK versions, specifically the one's you're targeting in Project Settings of Android in Visual Studio.
Open Android SDK Manager and revise the below
Once you install them, restart, then open VS and clean the build output and re-build everything.
So, After trying to solve this problem with many ways and all of it are not the optimal solution.
i Finally find the root Solution for this Issue.
you should Uninstall any Android Build-Tools Which In The Preview Chanel in the Android SDK Manager.
after doing so, clean and rebuild the Xamarin project.
I set up git in Android Studio
http://maxrohde.com/2014/08/18/import-github-project-to-android-studio/
Then imported this project
https://github.com/GautamGupta/Simple-Android-OCR
The following error was displayed:
Migrate Project to Gradle?
This project does not use the Gradle build system. We recommend that you migrate to using the Gradle build system.
What can I do to fix this?
That project hasn't been modified in two years, really four for most of the project, so it uses the older project layout and was very likely developed using Eclipse rather than Android Studio.
Here is the Google reference for migrating a project from Eclipse to Android Studio:
https://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/migrate.html
An option if simply importing doesn't work is to install Eclipse and do an export from there to Android Studio. While you could just work in Eclipse it is deprecated for Android development and you'll find many more up-to-date resources for Android Studio.
How do you import an Eclipse project into Android Studio now?
Android Studio's default build system is Gradle. That GiftHub project is not using Gradle build system. Probably created from Eclipse (Ant build system)
So when you open a project that does not use Gradle build in Android Studio, it will ask to convert the Project to Gradle based build. You just give yes on the popup, it will take care of everything.

here it explains solutions for gradle errors
That's not an error!
The recommended build system for android projects is gradle.
But the author of this project in github did it using only eclipse without any special build system.
You just need to answer "yes" to that popup message and Android studio will convert the project to use gradle
I am trying to create a Cordova project. After creating the project cordova create myProject I would like to open it in Android Studio. The problem is ... it doesn't work.
The CordovaLib will not build with various errors package android.* does not exist.
Does anyone know how to import a cordova project in Android Studio?
Unfortunately the accepted answer is a bit out of date. Using Cordova v5.3.3 (it probably works on all versions > 5) it is much the same process a building and then entering XCode for an iOS application now - the build system has moved to gradle.
Before opening in Android Studio
cordova build android
Then just open up the project using File > Open and pointing to the (yourProjectDir)/Platforms/Android directory.
If you are using an older version of the cordova android platform you might need to run
cordova platform android update
To get moved to the gradle build system which is compatible with the current version of Android Studio
Make sure you import the "platform/android" directory underneath your cordova project (and you want to Import Project, not Open Project).
You will at least need to run
cordova prepare android
before doing the import
cordova build android
will also work, but it will create some ant directories which will not be used by Android Studio and you will have to actively ignore the files when importing otherwise you will get extra libraries in your project). Although I haven't imported a Cordova app into android studio recently, it definitely works in the Community edition of Intellij which Android Studio is based on (I did it yesterday with a project built from scratch with Cordova 3.5). I can't think of any of the additional features in Android Studio that would be useful that aren't in Intellij, as most of the additions which haven't been backported to Intellij are in the preview space which isn't going to work with Cordova anyway (all it is going to preview is a blank webkit view).
All the answers above seem to refer to the cli. However, to actually have your project in android studio so that you can harness the power of the android studio, this is what I would suggest you do:

Building Ionic framework in android studio
We have some troubles on importing Ionic project to android studio because we have add android platform with SUDO command, and because of it, android studio dont have access privileges to read files.
In my case just do sudo chmod -Rf 777 ionicFolder android studio can import project successful.
I hope this help some one with this problem.
