How to change battery level in android studio 4.1 emulator - android

I am using Android Studio 4.1 and the emulator looks like this
Now i am following a tutorial series where the person has old version of Android studio but he is able to change battery level of his emulator using the options provided. The options are accessed by this button
Now I have right clicked everything. Searched on YouTube but I cannot find this option. So it would be great if someone can guide me

You can't access that from within the tool window, unfortunately:
So you'll need to uncheck the Launch in a tool window box, and it'll run in a separate window. The tool window version is new so I assume they'll add the options at some point though.
(If you need to find that settings screen, do Ctrl+Shift+A and type Emulator)

Can I have the Android Emulator without the Window Frame?

In the past, the Android Emulator is always a standalone nice Emulator not attached to Android Studio. It is very helpful for a quick snapshot for documentation purpose, as it looks like a real device without the Window Frame.
However, after installing Android Studio Dolphin, the Emulator either Dock to the Android Studio or having an ugly Window Frame around it as below.
Can I get rid of the Window Frame?
You can't get rid of the window border, because they added the feature to include the emulator inside Android Studio (Refer to the Emulator patch notes 30.0.10).
If it is unbearable, then there is the option to run the emulator from the command line as instructed here. But you have to run your app in Android Studio beforehand.
Personally I would just deal with it. Taking screenshots is still possible with the menu points on top. But other than that I couldn't find another option.
Update: I actually found the setting to remove the tool window and just get the emulator as a floating window.
In Android Studio, go to the Settings, search for "Emulator" (its in the secion "Tools" and untick "Launch in a tool window".
Hope this is the answer you are looking for

Cant See More Options In The Emulator Window In Android Studio

I am not able to see 'more' options for the emulator in the Android studio. I want to change the location from the options menu.
Update as of Sept 2021
Developers now have access to all extended emulator controls when the
emulator is opened in a tool window.
Previous Answer
As per the official documentation it's a limitation See here
Currently, you can't use the emulator's extended controls when it's running in a tool window. If your development workflow depends heavily on the extended controls, continue to use the Android Emulator as a standalone application.
Uncheck and run again.
Just go the File->Setting->Tools->Emulator
And then uncheck the checkbox and press apply and run the application again this will show you the emulator with all detail.

Android Emulator Scroll Down Doesn't Work in Home Page

I am new in Android Studio. I am using Android Emulator for call rest API for my backend. Before, i scroll down basicly in main android page. But after i wanted to tried scroll down, as if i right clicked, Home Setting, Widgets and Wallpaper pop-up show me. What is the solution about that. I never changed any setting.
Thanks for reply.
It looks like your emulator is frozen. It happens quite often.
I would suggest you to try these:
Restart your computer and try to run your app in the emulator. After it successfully runs, now try to clear the app cache.
If that didn't help, create another emulator. I recommend to choose different device and API level than the current emulator device but it is not necessary. This should solve your problem.
Tips
If you want to clear data, clear cache, uninstall app, clear cache and restart the app and so many such actions from android studio without touching your emulator then you can use ADB Idea plugin.
For that, in android studio go to Settings -> Plugins
search for ADB Idea in marketplace. Install it.
You need to restart android studio.
To use it:
You can press shift key in your keyboard twice and search for Adb in search window. You will get all the options from the plugin
From android studio menu... Tools -> ADB Idea and then you will see all the options available.

How to remove the device's frame on Visual Studio Emulator?

I only need what's relevant for the development and testing. I don't need the huge "emulated" dumb bezel area mostly good for grabbing and relocating the emulator window. Even the real devices start to eliminate those bezels nowadays.
I don't need the directional clues about the device orientation it provides. Just small grabbing handle should be enough on the tool strip or in the main window.
It wastes screen real estate and makes tiling besides other useful windows hard or inefficient (even with my double monitor setup).
How can i hide or remove it?
It no longer works: if I remove the properties (using the small trash button or leaving them empty), the manager will restore them. (My version: Xamarin.Android SDK 10.2.0.100)
But I've found another solution:
Open Android Device Manager from Visual Studio.
While your device is powered off, click the "..." in the top right corner
Select "Show in explorer"
Edit the file "config.ini"
Remove the skin.name and skin.path properties and save file
Start the device!
Open Android Device Manager from Visual Studio.
While your Device is powered off Click Edit
Find the property skinname and clear the value (leave empty)
Find the property skinpath and clear the value (leave empty)
Click Save & Start Device.
Worked for me
Show in Explorer now called : Reveal in Explorer
And you can just add // before skin for example:
//skin.name=pixel_xl
Open Android Studio -> Tools -> AVD Manager -> Pencil Icon next to Your Virtual Device -> Uncheck 'Show device frame'

Default AVD in Android Studio

Does anyone know of a way (or if it's even possible) to set the default preview AVD in Android Studio v0.4.5. Every time I create a new activity it shows it in a Nexus 4 preview but as I have TEGRA Note 7 and have a custom AVD created for that, I want to see that as the default.
Is this possible and, if so, can anyone advise how to do it? I've checked all the settings but can't see anything that jumps out.
Thanks in advance.
In Android Studio 1.2.2, I was able to solve this problem by going to Run > Edit configurations...
From there, you can change the default emulator (avd) by clicking Defaults, then Android Application. From there, under Target Device, select your Preferred Android Virtual Device then click Apply or OK.
If that still does not work, you may need to also change this setting at the application level. Instead of clicking Defaults, click Android Application and select the name of the project in question. Then proceed to define the project-specific, preferred AVD as described above.
