I am looking for the way to get related images like Pinterest search. I have searched a lot. Most of the solution is to compare image pixel by pixel something like this. What I want is to compare the image if comparing result is more than 75% I want to show the images.
Is there any algorithm or image processing library available for Android to achieve this?
Please help to solve this. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,

I want to know how to "easily" display a gif image (animated) ...in android.
Is there a custom library or something like that, maybe a .jar I can download and use it to link a .gif resource and display it an an activity ?
I know this has been asked a lot of times on SO, but there's not one easy solution, and a beginner like me could get lost easily.
I'm looking for something like what Picasso does in displaying images from URLs...
Google search didn't find me anything, only empty questions with half hearted not working/ deprecated answers.
As a last resort, here I am.

It's going to be hard to answer your question without examples. However, I would advise you to review this article that specifically deals with how to handle Loading Large Bitmaps Efficiently.
The article covers how to:
Read Bitmap Dimensions and Type
Load a Scaled Down Version into Memory
And yes, I know that you are not wanting to loose image quality, but this article gives you the best guidelines to follow and should get you close to what you want. There are cases where you will need to scale the image down and cases where you do not need to do so.
In my application I want to capture an image and compare it with a stored image to know if they are similar.
What API/technology/third party application can I use to make this happen?
You can use the OpenCV library:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/
Take a look at this answer for ideas how to solve your problem:

Android: How do a display a large animated gif given a url?
And checkout the BitmapDecode given in APIDemos.
As far as I know, Android doesn't support GIF images' animation, so you'll perhaps have to try the other way around: create separate images for each state of your current GIF, and animate them using Android 2D animation.
This is manual, and time consuming, but sadly this is what I can suggest.
I am a newbie in android dev...
I more or less copied the camera implementation from http://marakana.com/forums/android/examples/39.html. However, it returns totally torn images like in the image link below. A notable thing is that the icon of that image in windows shows a correct image, therefore, there must be something wrong with the jpeg compression...
Does somebody had the same problem before?
thanks in advance!
lol cannot post images =.= how stupid
