How to edit OS version in the emulator without losing data - android

I have a scenario to test when the app upgrades from android 11 to 12. So, I have installed the app in the emulator with android 11. After that I edited the emulator OS to android 12. When I edit the emulator and open it again, it has no apps installed in it. So, can someone suggest a way to edit the emulator without losing my app.

how to enable emulator in android studio?

I've been learning Android studio and android app development for a while now and I've been installing emulator .I recently installed the Nexus 5S API 24 but that showed some emulator errors
enter image description here
And then I thought the problem is with the API and so downloaded an emulator with lower API i.e; NEXUS 4 API 18 and that is also not running showing the same error. I thought the problem is with android Studio and hence I uninstalled the whole Android
Studio and then downloaded it again. But again the same errors show up.
I tried connecting my phone as an emulator instead of downloading an emulator.
But then, something showed up like in the picture below

Mine is a Gionee P7 phone .
Any help on this issue would be helpful .
Open the SDK Tools (Tools> SDK Manager> SDK Tools) to check if you have installed the Intel X86 Accelerator, if not, check the box and apply, then restart your AS, it should work.
Still recommend you to use real device to run your application, since the emulator really cost a lot of memory resources.

How to simulate an Android firmware update on Android Studio Emulator?

I'm running the latest Android Studio (2.3.3) on my machine, and I would like to know how to update from an Android version to another without losing apps.
I'm trying to emulate a Google Pixel XL with firmware 7.1, installed my test app, and then when I tried to change from Advance Settings my firmware version to the latest, Android O (8), I noticed that all the third party apps were deleted, and it sees my device as a new one with factory reset.
Do you have any solution for this problem? My purpose is to see if the upgrade affected my app in any way.

Android Studio - Emulator doesn't load my app

I'm using android studio about 2 weeks and everything is going right until I try to create a new app and the android studio ask me for updates to API level 22 and I did it. After this update my emulator doesn't load my app anymore, the emulator opens but the app doesn't show up and even appears at emulator.
Log:
Device Nexus_5_API_21_x86 [emulator-5554] is online, waiting for processes to start up..
I try to uninstall and install again the android studio but even reinstalling with API level 21 keep not working.
Even the default Hello World application doesn't load and not show up at my emulator.
I had the same issue, and was able to work around it by manually starting the emulator first, then running the app and choosing the running emulator
I had this same issue with my first app on android studio 2.1.2. I just tried to run it and see on emulator screen but app didn't show up there.
Remember to check the messages panel it saying something wrong with my java version. I had installed JDK 7. I installed JDK 8 and that fixed the problem.

android installer is showing as update despite of absence of previous versions

I created an app with LiveCode and installed it on my tablet (Jelly Bean 4.1.2) few times. I'm not able to install the latest version of the app nor the older versions that were installed without any problems before. When I tap to install the app the message asks if I want to install an update to existing application despite that the previous versions are uninstalled. When I tap on Install the message comes: "App not installed". The app is about 7 MB and I have plenty of space on the tablet. What is the reason for this problem and how to fix it?
Changing the app Identifier in the standalone settings fixed the problem.

How do I know if it's the latest version of my application that is running on the emulator?

I develop an Android application using Eclipse and the Android emulator. Sometimes I don't know if I am running the latest version of my application in the emulator. Is there any way I can check if it is the latest version?
E.g. I do a change of the layout for my application, but when I run the application in the emulator and the change isn't visible. Then I don't know if it is an old version of the application that is running or if I have done something wrong in the new version so the change isn't visible.
Monitor your console output as it tells you if the application was installed or not and of course keep an eye on the emulator itself as you will see your application close and reopen when it gets installed.
