I have installed a new version of android studio
Whenever I created the virtual device AVD it shows
The process for Avd has terminated .
I used the older version but still facing the issue.I have tried various methods
from Youtube like installing reinstalling haxm and downloading imagesx86 but did not solve the problem
PLZ help me!
I suggest you to forget AVD of android studio and start using other AVDs like:
NOX or Genymotion which are faster and lighter.

I can't change the graphics to software in order to fix my AVD not launching. The option is greyed out. Has anyone experience this? I couldn't find anyone who had the same issue.
I'm running the latest version of Android Studio on chipmunk.
try deleting the emulator first then make a new one also delete it on Drive C:android/AVD and try running it again
I am working on andorid and my emulator is working fine but now whenever I try to run my project my emulator always get freeze I have also added that picture. Any help to resolve this issue?
That's Windows 11 right? A lot of people seem to be having issues and there's an issue about it on Google's tracker:
Android Studio Emulator is not working on Windows 11 using WHPX
Android Studio Emulator is not working on Windows 11 when WSL2 is installed
If none of that applies (the question shows how to run the emulator from a terminal, so you can see what the output is) then I'd try in this order:
close the emulator and make sure there are no emulator processes running in Task Manager
reboot and try again
do a Cold Boot in the AVD manager (clears the emulator state)
delete the AVD and create a new one
but given that it's hanging like that partway through initialisation, it might be an issue with the emulator process itself. Some stuff to try anyway
Try delete this emulator and create some new emulator.
For some reason ever since I updated Android Studio to version 4.1, whenever I try to run the emulator I get this error:
Error while waiting for device: The emulator process for AVD Pixel_2_API_29 was killed.
I have tried reinstalling android studio, cold booting the device and literally everything I could think of.
newbie here but wanted to learn more about developing apps, so downloaded Android Studio to do an intro lesson and was frustrated by the same issue -emulator was "killed" before opening. Well, I think I saw a vague suggestion somewhere to uninstall Emulator using SDK Manager (SDK Manager - System Settings - Android SDK - SDK Tools), then reinstalling from same place (SDK Manager). Voila! It worked for me. The emulator works and I see my virtual device. As a newbie you can imagine how cryptic this all was for me, but it's one way to learn, I guess!
Hi I am having trouble launching a virtual device. Im getting the error in the image and the device is frozen. I have tried deleting platform tools reinstalling both with sdk manager and manually. I have no idea what to do any help would be appreciated.
Update: still not working I have reinstalled android studio updated computer checked windows defenders nothing works.
Android Studio Error
sdk settings
I reinstalled android studio, reinstalled project tools, switched to intelij, and created new device and it started working. I guess the reinstating the device did the fix for me.
I have recently installed Android Studio 2.3.3 and Apache Cordova in order to construct cross-mobile apps. While the installation of Cordova and the main Android Studio IDE seems to have been a success, I have having issues setting up the Android Emulators.
I was unable to locate the AVD Manager.exe in the SDK folder, so I downloaded a new "AVD Manager.exe". However, when I try to open the executable I get the following message:
Failed to execute tools\android.bat:
The system cannot find the file specified.
When I do open up Android Studio I can now see the greyed AVD Manager icon, so I am not sure if I am on the right path to resolving my issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Built-in AVD is laggy and slow enough. Use Genymotion instead. It's free for personal usage.
If your computer is of minimum 8 GB ram , its OK to use AVD .or else I suggest you to use genymotion. Its free and fastest . or else its better to build apps in a physical device.
