I was trying to flash an update ROM.
I want to remove the stock Browser and Market applications
I removed the Browser.apk and MarketUpdater.apk from the system/app folder of the update archive
After flashing, when I checked Settings > Applications, there is no Browser app which is expected, but Market application is there and it is working fine. Which means I should remove some thing other than MarketUpdater.apk. What is Market application's APK named?
search vending_xxxx.apk is exist in it or not

my question is for android os (Galaxy Note 2, rooted device, 4.0.1).
I need to hide the app "Samsung Smart Camera App" permanently, even it tries to go in front or runs after start.
Is there any way to convert an app to a background service?
Does anyone has any idea?
Go to settings, find the app you want and hit Disable.

I have users with my Android app installed from non-market install (manual apk install)
Will they be able to post star ratings and review comments on the Android Play market?
Short answer: No.
But at least I have to have 30 characters ... For me it didn't work.

I believe that can only be done by the user checking the allow automatic updates when they get your app.

I'm interested in the android app store concept.
I'm just wondering if there is any open source project going on to develop a customizable android app store (like android market).
It might be interesting to be able to set up your own app store.
Thanks a lot.
Are you looking to build a public or private app store ?
If it's private, there is a solution called Appaloosa: Appaloosa web site.
It's working on android and ios, but it's not OSS.

Is it possible to distribute app. only for selected accounts/clients on Android Market or maybe there is other easy way of distribution only to selected users ?
You could always just give them the apk.
Or if you want to you could make the app available to everyone but can only be accessed with validation key. Key Generators are relatively simple to make there's an example here.
