Calling url to open by text string - android

Ok so im making an app that involve a qr scanner on result i have text showing with the url of the code is there any way in an onclick listener to call the text from the result and open it in the browser if so how can I do it

Using AlertDialog.Builder to build custom AlertDialog class

I have a Class FoodDialog that extends AlertDialog that I have customized to how I would like it to look.
I am now wanting to edit the positive/negative buttons using an AlertDialog.Builder, however, when I attempt to build an instance of FoodDialog using a builder, I am facing an 'Incompatible types' error where the builder is asking for AlertDialog instead I am providing it with an extension of AlertDialog - is there a way around this?
If not, is there a way I can edit the positive/negative buttons of my custom AlertDialog class FoodDialog?
Below is my FoodDialog class. The yes/no buttons I have there are ones I have created myself, but I would like the ones that are part of the AlertDialog.Builder to appear instead as these buttons get pushed out of sight when the soft keyboard appears:

first you need to check like this
if(getIntent().hasExtra("key_1"))
{
String data = getIntent().getString("key_1");
}
else if(getIntent().hasExtra("key_2"))
{
String msg = getIntent().getString("key_2");
}
......

You can do that with two way.
1)if(getIntent().hasExtra("your_key")) and
2) use same key in two activities for passing data
like modify_intent.putExtra("same_key", title);

In Android how to prevent updating existing items on notifyDataSetChanged()

I have chat app
In custom array adapter. I set random colors to usernames for each message with this code:

When new message arrive I add it to listview, and call adapter.notifyDataSetChanged();
This causes recoloring existing usernames in messages each time.
How can I prevent recoloring existing items in listview when calling adapter.notifyDataSetChanged();

You should keep color in the data class, for example in the Message class, or keep Map in the adapter, that maps Message to Color. Then randomly create a color, when it doesn't present in the map. or use the color, if it present in the map. Using a map is good solution than keeping in the data class, when the color doesn't related to message, when it is not a message property, so in that case, a good solution is a keeping it in the adapter class, in the map, for example

Basically you have to create a Collection of user data model.
Like ArrayList<UserModel> arr = new ArrayList<UserModel>();
User Model can contain-> userId,userColor,groupId(if group chat supported) and map this model with you DB.
Means you have to make a column in db and add userBgColor in user table and map it with the model and this model in array list and supply the array list to your custom adapter .
Your can use ORMLite for rational mapping .
Then in getView()

onCreate() method with if-else condition

I am calling an activity namely LoginActivity.java in which i am getting values using Intent, storing data to SQLite, fetching data from SQLite and given a small condition, condition looks like this:

So issue is, instead of calling LoginActivity.java its calling LicenseListActivity.java again, after GetOperativesActivity.java ?

Why can't I update my EditText in onPostExecute with Geocoder in the AsyncTask?

I am trying to reverse geocode inside an AsyncTask to get the address of the current location. I want to set the EditText to the address as default when starting the activity. My problem is I am unable to do this in onPostExecute(), however, I can do it in runOnUiThread() inside doInBackground(). Why is this?

That does not work. However, when I stick a runOnUiThread in it, it works:

UPDATE
After some debugging it appears that onPostExecute is never called at all no matter what I do.
Things I have tried:
Log information inside onPostExecute: Does not appear
Remove the entire logic inside doInBackground so it's like this return "hello" : onPost still does not execute

You did not put #Override above onPostExecute. Also asynctask object must to be created inside UI thread.
EDIT: Your edittextis not updated, becauseit is consumedimidiatly after post execute is finished.
1) write EditText addrField; as class variable of activity class.
2) find reference to it in onCreate().
3) on your original onpostexecute should remain only addrField.setText(address);
